rambunctious

rambunctious: Illustration Friday theme of the week!

I am visiting an office space offered to me through a caring friend. If it all goes right I will begin working in it as soon as the holidays end. I will see if working in a professional setting with colleagues and a coffee machine helps me to stay focused and keep distractions at bay.

In the mean time here is that new year’s card almost finished below.. I think the colors will be deep and jewel toned but  how will I  handle the black line if the sky is dark? With a light line?  Will I just keep it light and airy? Also where will I stick in a little 2009 lettering? …. I have scraped the whole volvelle idea. A shame though but I won’t be able to assemble it on time so it will be a traditional folded card. I will color at my new office tomorrow. Hurray!

Benevolent forces

Where are you people coming from? Someone please speak up!

Up until Sunday I could count on my neice and my mother visiting my site at least once a month. My statistics for visitors has suddenly shot through the roof. I am feeling such pressure to entertain you. Who are you?

Who is sending you here? Is this a sign that there is indeed life out there in cyberius? Please BENEVOLENT FORCES answer me!

Little China Girl Sketches

This is so much nicer than the other one. I wonder how I can make this into a full blown series. Whenever I try to go into the drawing more I tend to loose the spontenaity that makes this kind of drawing interesting.

Building it up for Bologna

We are busy putting up a new website to compliment my blog (and vice versa). The website will be an overview of my work with links to pictures of my work, studio and a bio. Reading Nabokov’s Speak, Memory helped me to define that biography although the format is rather linear. The fact that I do try to go back to themes again and again makes it slightly Nabokovian which is a wink to my last series.  For today I spruced up an older drawing that will be featured in my print portfolio. I am getting ready to leave for Italy at the end of the week where I will be presenting my work. How do you say GOOD LUCK in Italian?
Just a side note… I got a hub so that both me and husband can access my printer, scanner, extra harddrive and  ipod from any room in the house. I just love technology, don’t you?
